Rick W. Maupin is a member of the Council of Twelve Apostles, the lead missionary quorum of Community of Christ. He is assigned to the Caribbean/Mexico Mission Field and a special mission project with the Multi-Nations Team of Apostles.

Rick has served in the Latin American/Caribbean Mission Field, the Africa Field, and in Leadership Development and Hispanic Ministries. He was president of the Heart of Texas USA Mission Center and Central Missouri Stake, and administrator of the Southwest Region. He was pastor, stake missionary commissioner, director of youth and family camps, on the stake high council, and counselor to the stake president.

A native of Holden, Missouri, Rick received a bachelor of arts in education and a master of arts in secondary school administration from Central Missouri State University, Warrensburg, Missouri, and a master of arts in religion from Park University, Parkville, Missouri.

Prior to employment with the church, Rick was a junior high school teacher in the Blue Springs, Missouri, School District and a millwright for the Kansas City, Missouri, Armco Steel Inc. plant.

Community of Christ has 250,000 members in more than 60 nations. The church’s mission is to “proclaim Jesus Christ and promote communities of joy, hope, love, and peace.”
